There are probably some differences between Downes and the majority of the Wikimedians on how they see these to be implemented. Let me explain: (1) Downes: "stop deleting articles" Implementation: I think as a such that is not a good recommendation. I would prefer that people could show to each other more WikiLove, have more dialogue with newbies on the deletion and be nice to each other. If something should be deleted it should be deleted. I like the Wikipedia Trifecta, as a simple set of guidelines for a civic behavior on Wikpedia: 1) Be Neutral, 2) Don't be a Dick, 3) Ignore All Rules (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:TRI ). (2) Downes: "remove all the little 'the neutrality of this article is disputed' or 'the following section doesn't cite any sources' notifications" Implementation: Use templates with care and again show some WikiLove when using them. :-) Using templates improves the reader's experience and hopefully quality of the content. Wikipedia is encyclopedia. The primary aim is to have good and neutral articles. For people who do not care about this there is the entire internet to write whatever they want. (3) "stop catering to the criticisms of the print media (who, after all, would rather see Wikipedia fail)". Hmm . . . Th print media (a French journalist) said recently: "Making fun of Wikipedia is so 2007".
