Yes, I agree that's the way. I've already uploaded thousands of videos to archive.org from YouTube using <https://code.google.com/p/emijrp/source/browse/trunk/scrapers/youtube2internetarchive.py>, I only need a list of the video URLs. For files on my HDD I use https://wiki.archive.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IAS3BulkUploader
