Attention everyone:

Over the last couple of years that TWIAR.org has hosted the medianews
and wildfeeds mailing lists, I have had a great amount of news and
information sent my way.

With "This Week in Amateur Radio" being a not-for-profit group, we've
taken whatever we can get. So, when Digihost out of Australia offered
us space and bandwidth, it was an offer we couldn't refuse. We had a
great relationship with out prior host, but could not support the
increased bandwidth costs with the booming popularity of "podcasting"
that put TWIAR on the map.

The folks at Digihost have been more than accommodating to TWIAR.org and
to the mailing lists whenever problems arose. When we moved to Digihost
it was a better-than-expected transition, with little disruption. Over
the last month, TWIAR became the recipient of a Distributed Denial of
Service (DDoS) attack, and the quick-acting admins resolved the issue
with little to no disruption.

One issue that has crept up over the past several weeks has been a
constant where users are not getting their emails or getting bounced
messages when attempting to send to the lists, or not seeing their posts
sent back even though it appears in the archives. I have my suspicions
as to the cause, but unfortunately the admins with Digihost have been
unable to isolate the root of the problem. This is not a knock on
Digihost, as I have had nothing but positive things to say about them.
However, this issue is out of their hands and posting to a domain hosted
in North America may be the only real solution.

ROB SAYS he has some space on his domain (CBAND.INFO) and will offer to
take the mailing lists over to his site to hopefully alleviate any
problems from the mailing lists currently housed overseas in the land
down under. Therefore, this weekend I will migrate the subscriber lists
over from twiar.org to cband.info. Hopefully the CBAND.INFO domain will
be an easier domain to remember for sending posts.

Other than the new email address users will have to post to, there
should be no changes necessary on the subscribers' end in order to
continue receiving email. Until the move is complete, you should
continue to post to twiar.org. Once complete, I will shut down
twiar.org's lists and post a message with the new email addresses.

Once I have ensured the transition is complete, I will pass on duties
over to Rob for admin issues, and will continue to remain as a
contributor to Medianews.

I want to thank Mike Reynolds for the opportunity to host these mailing
lists, and will have the door open to host them in the future should it
be required.
