Hello,

I have a notebook with Intel 5350 WiMAX card. I installed linux drivers and it seems to work fine, I can connect to our network and download data. Now I want to capture packets and work on 802.16 MAC headers. The problem is that when I capture packets using Wireshark, MAC headers are stripped off and I can only see headers belonging to higher protocols. The same problem occurred when I captured WiFi traffic with the same card but I managed to capture packets with 802.11 headers using monitor mode (I used Kismet to switch to monitor mode). Now, I want to do the same with WiMAX. How can I set the card to work in monitor mode?

Second question: Isn't there a wireless extension for WiMAX? Or is there one and the reason I don't see it is that I couldn't install it?

I also have another question. When I was capturing 802.11 packets in monitor mode, I could only see management packets (data packets were not captured.) I guess this is caused by Intel's firmware. Isn't there any way to capture all packets going through the network device with all of its headers in place?

Thanks.
-Murat.
