One of he only times I ever had a virus "in" my computer was
when I had hooked up someone else's Hard Drive and "IT" had
an MBR virus...  I was glad "I" was protected at the point...

If you never bring in OR hook up **ANYTHING**  from "outside",
(including that Internet connection), then you can be perfectly safe
with no AV...
