 No, the  enable DMA can be checked, but when I re-boot it's un-
checked again. If I un-check the other optical drive, then it 
will stick. When I installed PowerDVD  it complained that it 
couldn't enable DMA on the CDRW drive.

I'd try the drive swap idea, but the 5.25 inch bays are too far 
from the 3.5 inch bays to make the connections with the cables 
that I have.
