Was it a computer radio or a desk radio? It shouldn't interfere with a normal radio - none of mine do (and if they did, the monitors and other equipment in the room would have a bigger effect).
I saw some charging $20 shipping so you got off lucky. :) The two I bought yesterday were not discounted - neither the shipping nor the insurance. But... I felt more comfortable buying from this guy than from the one who had a higher item price and lower shipping, even though it cost me a few bucks more total. Shipping is really getting to be out of hand - some sellers price stuff really low and mark up shipping so they can make a profit (and probably not have to pay taxes on it). The low prices attract the attention of buyers and they still make money if you want a refund as shipping is not usually refunded.
