Longhorn will be released long before those supposedly Astronauts are
to, theoretically, land on Mars if they ever survive the six month long
journey for the US does not have the money to implement the president's
pie-in-the-impossible-sky vision. The tech behind the deep space travel
will certainly be much more advanced than the Space Shuttle. This will
take decades to achieve and we have more important things to focus on
like economy, jobs, education, social security and healthcare to worry
about.
I'll place my wager on the Christmas shopping season because of one
thing that Microsoft knows for sure:
they know that Apple will be releasing The Tiger OS this month and they
are under huge pressure to keep their OS market share away from apple as
much as they can.
