I believe it should automagically be saved as -- "Windows Classic (modified)"

The setting of my desktop theme is "Classic Windows" with one or two
Advanced settings ie the live window has a red top stripe.
I save this setting as "My Current Theme".
When I reboot the machine it invariably comes up with the XP style.
How can I make my favourite setting stick?
