You know, we are all human and as it happens, we may all make mistakes from
time to time. I will not apologize on Wayne's behalf, as he has already
done so, better than I could. A bit of the behind-the-scenes traffic among
the moderators managed to be exposed to the list. Well, ... it happens.
The main point here is not to concentrate on specifically what any one or
few individuals may have done or tried to do and whether or not they were
being moderated (the value/content of their post checked before being
allowed to the list). The fact of the matter is that this list is not a
democracy. It runs, I hope pretty well, within a framework about which
matters are appropriate to discuss here and which are not. I am most likely
at fault for not always making this clear, but it is very difficult to make
all possible rules in advance, considering all permutations of all
possibilities of posts. I try to keep things flexible, wide ranging, but
broadly on-topic.
Comments in response to any germane question (this list is about Win
95/98/ME/2000/XP/2003) are ok provided they stay in that realm. For
example, a person asks, "can others see this URL..." some people reply,
"yes, I have no problem". Others reply, "I only see red X's". So clearly
its a question about or in some way related to individual browser program
and/or browser settings. People replying to such a request should confine
their remarks in that way (can/can't see, what browser that person is using,
etc) and should refrain from more general comments about the pictorial
content of the images in question since they are not relevant to the
question or the purpose of the list.
