I also have a DOWNLOAD folder but found long ago that for me the best place to put it was in the NETWORK Drive. That way, when I download something that needs to be accessible from all (or more than one) LAN members, it is right there. No need to copy/move it from one machine to another...
As an aside, once I set up a network drive for my LAN I wondered how in the world I ever got by without it. For anyone needing a leg up on establishing one, Win XP Pro Help has adequate information on doing so.
