I will have to check the Firmware. I will also have to check the model #. I have been using some version (I'll have to check) of the same router for my home network and it has been great. The notebook I have does not need to use the PC Card that came in the kit. WEP is enabled on that one with no problem.
I had an older computer that had problems using the PC Card. It could be in need of a software upgrade. Thanks for the suggestion. If so, which firmware is installed. I've had one since November of last year. It came with v2.42 of the firmware installed. I was having problems with the wireless keeping a connection, so I installed the v2.50 firmware which supposedly fixed a problem like that. Then in late February I started having problems with losing the wired connection periodically. It would immediately reconnect but if I was in the middle of downloading something or I had a VPN, telnet connection, etc. I would lose my connection and have to reestablish or redownload it. They sent me another v2.52 firmware, that wasn't yet on their website, and a variation of the old wireless loss of connection was back. I finally insisted on returning the router as defective and have just received a new one with the v2.50 firmware installed. The jury is still out on this. Initially it appears to be working okay, but I have noticed a couple of messages that my wireless connection has been reestablished, which usually indicates it had been dropped. I also had a problem syncing all my offline files, but finally was able to finish that process. Note: I'm using all 4 wired ports and my wireless is using WEP.
