I have tried to boot from the cdrom (it is enabled in the bios and worked in the past). I even set all three selections to boot from cdrom and still get the NTLDR is missing error message. I have checked and reseated the IDE and SATA data and power cables. No luck.
NTLDR is on the HD so trying to boot the cdrom shouldn't affect it. Have you tried booting from an external drive ?
On a side note. If the mobo is toast in some way, what are the chances of begin able to install the SATA and IDE RAIDs on another mobo and have the data accessible?
If it's the same chipset as what you have that uses the same driver then you should be ok but when it comes to raids there are no quarantees.
