I agree that "Notepad" or any other text editor for that matter is far 
better that the DOS command line for any text file, for editing text 
files with more than two or three lines.

It is, however a very convenient way of creating a small text file, 
very quickly.  Most people may not also realise that it is a quick 
way of creating an empty file, or destroying the contents of an 
existing file !!
