Well, under win98 I used to save a link on the desktop 
simply with the command File | send  | shortcut to desktop 
and the shortcut always worked. I do *exactly* the same 
under win2000 and I receive an error message saying that 
there is no program associated which is very odd since 
IE6 is part of the OS and it's working properly;
