Thanks for your helpful suggestions, Jim. I was able to boot to the floppy when
no
HD or CD were present. Now, with my two older (system compatible) HDs I get an
accurate AUTO detection, but the error message (cycle) is to press any key to
reboot, so it doesn't boot from the HDs or floppy notwithstanding my BIOS
choice.
I'll keep trying for awhile and give up, methinks...
