I'll try the Western Digital 40GB HD in the system again with appropriate BIOS
support and boot the Win98 install CD just to see if I can get things going.

It seems, from what I've read in the WD docs that I should be able to boot from their CD but my attempts haven't been successful. Maybe I'll try the Win98 boot
floppy to move to the WD CD.

Many people needed to boot their 98/DOS diskettes with the appropriate drivers entries in the autoexec.bat & config.sys to access their cdrom drive.

Thanks, Troy, for some very good questions which I certainly will ask myself in
this troubleshooting/installation process.

Who is Troy ? There was a Roy that chimed in but I don't see a Troy.
