Open task manager and put a check in the box on the processes tab to show all processes from all users - this will show you what accounts are logged on and the programs they are using. Also... unless you are sharing folders with another computer, no one is actually logged into the computer because it would log you out if they tried. Not sure if the user tab will show you anything or not... probably not.
My guess is that one of your apps has an account logged in... assuming you aren't sharing your hard drive with the world. Also, disable the guest account if you use simple sharing - that will keep them out, even if you have drives shared. If this is your only computer you can disable file and printer sharing - that will keep others out too. If you have multiple computers networked together and shared drives, it could be the other computer - which is nothing to worry about as long as it's not compromised. -- -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeanne . Running XP Pro, when I try to shut down I sometimes get a message to the effect that there are other people logged onto my computer and do I really want to disconnect them by shutting down. There shouldn't be ANYONE on besides me, so this is disturbing. Is there a WinXP utility that will tell me who/what is logged in? -- ---------------------------------------- ALL messages to the list MUST include a descriptive subject.
