As you've said maybe there will be a 2 or a 3 but W2K will soon enter the
Extended Support phase June 30, 2005 which means there will be 5 years left
for support of WK2 and all server versions of W2K until June 2010.

Many companies are still using W2K and are very slow to migrate to WIN XP
not only due to hardware and software compatibility issues but mainly
licencing costs per server and seat. This means that W2K will be a favorite
target for hackers for a long time to come not to mention W2K3 and XP.

Sp4 came out in March 2003. This is Update Rollup 1 in other words many
security updates all in one & while some may speculate that this is the last
for W2k the fact that MSFT named it 1 leads me to believe there shall be a 2
& maybe a 3 but who knows as maybe they'll get lucky & won't need that many
fixes.
