Rarely do I have to work around a lost BIOS password as most can not prove
they own the computer.
Anyone that asks me to remove the pwd protection in the bios I assume own
the machine & I certainly don't make anyone prove anything. How do you know
if that MSFT CD the client walked in with wasn't stolen? You don't. Do ask
them for their receipt? That was a rhetorical question as I don't need to
hear all about CD keys & etc. again.
There is nothing we technicians can learn that kids can't learn better as
they have more time to spend on evil. The same reasons are why those who
commit petty crimes and get locked up have plenty time and instruction to
learn the most evil methods of crime and become very proficient at it.
Just because one has or does time does mean they're going to become evil.
Attitude is everything. There are tons of old farts out there messing
around with computers as well since they have the time but does that make
them evil hackers just because they fool around with pics & videos of their
grandkids? </rhetorical> Gee, I hope I'm not being to subtle again. <lol>
I am happy that hacking or gaining access represents far less than 1% of
my duties as a computer technician.
Another place we differ, just because I love to hack doesn't mean I do so
to be evil. One could always do some beta testing if they want to do some
lite hacking around as I'm sure there are outlets for more serious hackers
such as developing recovery tools like my XpPe or Linux distros.
