And I'm the same way but on the other side: if someone posts something that 
starts with a sentence that makes no sense at all and there's no obvious 
context within the first few lines, instead of clicking SCROLL to try to figure 
out WTH they're talking about, I delete the message.  Nothing like reading "I 
agree" and having to guess what they agree with, or getting a message that 
starts with a URL and having to guess what the URL is about...

Too many people believe that because THEY can remember what threads are about, 
their correspondents may have read hundreds of messages on scores of different 
topics before their reply/followup arrives and might well appreciate some help 
on figuring out what the topic at hand is....
