Then I uncheck "Use Wildcards", and check the "Special" dropdown again. And
the list is completely different, and there's Paragraph Mark (^p) right on
top.

Isn't that a wildcard?

The "Use Wildcard" list has many Regular Expression-ish items on it. I guess
"Wildcards" is MS language for "something kindof like Regular Expressions".
