Has anybody heard how MS and the rest are going to handle the proposed
change to the start /end time of daylight savings time?

Will we just go to a time server and do manually?

That is what patches are for.
And as with "most" software, everyone will have their own idea
of what to do and how to do it, (OR if at all...)

If a piece of "connected or aware" equipment/software is not
patchable, or an embedded OS/firmware is not flashable/patchable,
the changes "might" have to be handled totally manually...

Some of this has already been automated.
My cell phone resets the time/date every time I power it up.
My VCR searches for a PBS station that broadcasts the
clock/date settings. (The guy that sets the clock there is drunk
I suspect....... <grin>)

I doubt if my digital camera, or home heating clock thermostat
will ever "get an update" for all of this...
