Initially just used the old pst.

Funny you should mention that....

It's pretty close to that size, before downloading mail, I archived about 
500mb of stuff, didn't seem to make any difference to the pst size though

Misunderstanding on my part, I had assumed the pst file would be upgraded.

Went with the default.

Well, I just rdp'd in and created a new profile = same problem :-(
