Yes, FF opens MUCH more slowly for me. I have been assuming that this is the difference in having your browser integrated with the OS (IE) and having it as a stand-alone program (FF) but I could be totally out in left field with that surmise.
Since I rarely shut FF down and consequently don't have to start it very often, I really haven't looked into ways to enhance the start up. It is NOT machine specific; I run both FF and IE6, both latest editions and both fully patched, and it is the same on 3 different machines. They ARE all running Win XP Pro SP2, and again, with all updates, so that is a commonality. - Bill Hatcher [EMAIL PROTECTED] - -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Stephen Bird Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 16:12 To: [email protected] Subject: [WINHOME] Software: Speed Opening, MSIE vs. Firefox Greetings... I've noticed that Mozilla Firefox opens noticeably slower than Microsoft Internet Explorer (I run the SimBrowser shell on top of MSIE). Has anyone else had this experience and is it possible to speed the load time of Firefox? -- ---------------------------------------- To Change your email Address for this list, send the following message: CHANGE WIN-HOME your_old_address your_new_address to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Note carefully that both old and new addresses are required.
