Subject: Re: Thermostat

All the comments re this thread have been valuable. But nothing has a thermostat!

The closest I have come to temperature monitoring was not a thermostat, but AsusProbe, the software monitoring Asus provides for the Windows environment.

OEM's should follow the needs of the equipment, but some do not. I have never had an Intel CPU fan fail or an overheating problem. I have not been forced to stock replacement CPU fans. I did check pricing at the Intel site. Replacement 2500 RPM fans cost $30.00 plus shipping. Why would I pay that when I can buy those Spark 7+ fan and heatsink from www.thermaltake.com for use on 478 sockets for $19.00 each from ASI? By including them in my regular shipments, I do not feel any shipping charges. I use these when I move a CPU that does not have a fan from its motherboard to my new motherboard in a rebuild situation. I can and will use this fan if and when one of my Intel CPU fans quits.

I forgot to mention this fan does have a thermal control sensing unit. Go look at all of the devices there including this one http://www.thermaltake.com/accessories/a2259hardcano13/a2259hardcano13.htm

Those folks are like Cyberguys, if you need it, they most likely have it. Their specialty is cooling where Cyberguys has a lots broader range of products.

I have to make brief visits to those places. They are addictive like Radio Shack. I am a nut for all the gadgets.
