The best versions I ever had from Adaptec/Roxio were ones that came
free with hardware. v3s and v4s --- Except DirectCD never would
install originally. I had to install - to patch - to get rid of the install
problem...
(That is impossible.) That was the first "fight" I had with them...
When my full version 6 "imploded", just like with many other users, (but
not XP related), I left them again...
Nero is an "odd" little program (looked old), and not everything could be
found easily in the older versions... BUT, It always "just worked"...
For what I do, it is great.

Currently I have a nice Nero Express version bundled with the Asus DVD
burners I sell. I explain to my customers the fact that no burning hardware
manufacturer is going to bundle expensive full version software. They should
use the bundled OEM software until their needs exceeds its capabilities.
Most are very satisfied and do not have to purchase software.
