connected device, so they know when that device changes. As Rick
already mentioned, most routers have an option to clone the MAC
address of the connected PC, so you can fool the cable company that
way. In my opinoin, it is none of their business if I'm using one or
two PCs. Same goes for the number of TVs in the house.
PL] thanks for the tip about MAC addresses. I have never used a cable modem so did not know about the mac addresses bit. Why cable provider does charge extra if one takes a separate connection. A lot of people have got a splitter put from a single cable so that the connection is split and goes to two televisions.
