Let's start from the top----
one NNTP server from my ISP - usually absolutely fantastic with Agent 2 but
download headers form say - alt.binaries.warez.ibm-pc. I get the headers
as normal (agent 3 in use here) some are short of a few sections so I tag
them "keep". "get new headers in group" brings new headers (as you might
expect) and will fill some missing bits of the incomplete files.
Wait 1/2 hour and "get new headers" should - get new headers & fill some
more incomplete headers but the incomplete headers don't fill on the 3rd
attempt.
Now go to V2 (still running on a free news server) change the newservers to
my ISP's NNTP server and I get all the files - usually complete. Go back
to V3 and download the same set of headers (after deleting them and asking
for all files after 1 day) and I get the same incomplete headers.
Weird??????????
Perhaps there is some internal memory block, the incomplete headers are
being remembered and simply "undeleted"?
I have sent Jeffery a couple of screen shots of the incomplete fills on my
ISP server and one from free.teranews.com server. Both were refreshed
within 3 seconds of each and V3 showed incomplete and V2 showed complete
from each server.
That is 2 from my ISP and 2 from teranews so apart from testing news
servers I also tested both programs.
How can I get hold of the BETA coz I am getting peed off!
