I had a major windows crash on my Windows XP Pro upgrade from 98, on a
restart from upgrading
my firewall. I tried to revert the drive with windows but 4 trys with 4
different dates it would not
work, and now it will not even try again.
I put another HD in and installed Windows XP Pro upgrade from 98 again,
with all updates
and changed the original drive to slave but windows does not see it.
It shows as primary slave in the bios. Aida 32 sees it, but not as an
active drive.
Is it possible that the attempted rollbacks did something to the drive
or software to
prevent windows from seeing it? Windows XP Pro upgrade from 98 does not
offer a repair install,
only a format and reinstall.
I have some files on it that I would like to save.
