Why are you using Fat32? IIRC Fat32 was NOT originally supported with 2k but was added

trying to install with an original 2k disk it's no wonder it won't
see your partition/format information.
Hmmmm, I wonder about this since it is only very recently with WinXP that I
started
using anything other than FAT32 since I wanted to be able to access stuff from
Win98 in a multi-boot system which included Win98, Win2k, and WinXP. I've always
installed Win2k into FAT partitions. I suspect the problem is not FAT vs. NTFS.
I'd agree that NTFS is the native file system of WinNT/2k/XP. As I recall PM8 was
originally used so it should be able to offer format/OS install options.
I too am wondering about the whole problem.
When I first set up W2K sveral years ago I installed in on a FAT32
formatted disk and I don't remember I had any problems.
But today I can not get anywhere on FAT32 or NTFS partitions.
There must be a way I have forgotten.
Anyway I bit the big bullet and wiped the whole disk of all partitions
and let W2K do its thing.
As I suspected it took forever.
It took 2 1/2 hours just for it to format to NTFS.
I read Huey Long's biography while waiting.
I recommend it for historical information.
We need someone like him to come back here again.
Anyway I have W2K installed on the new disk with NTFS.
But there must be a quicker way to do it.
