Kylde, Do it right - 3 hd's
checksum stuff on A (proves readability prior to overwriting older backup) add B into system backup A->B Take A out of system Move B to be new A Verify checksum on new A (proves readability of backup) relabel C to now be B relabel old A to be C And - don't forget to leave a trail of DVD's (RW's? perhaps) for when you realise you cannot find something that should be on the system, and a boot-up disk check has converted to freespace for you - several backup cycles ago Oh! and that trail of (incremental backup) DVD's - hash check them against the hard drive after creating them Copy them to new media at least once a year ( back to HD and consolidate onto DVD R them perhaps) And don't forget to keep a copy in some other location in case you get visited by the property redistributors!
