OS X requires an administrator password for most tasks (including
login and installing programs). Try this, or use your OS X user name
(found in system preferences, accounts. It can also be the short
name). Then use your OS X password with this and it should allow you
access from the PC. UNIX systems are a bit more locked down over
access into them then we are used to with Windows. You could also try
the run command using the name or IP of the Mac, e.g., \\10.x.x.x.
