Subject: FDDs

Some of the communicants have noted that MSI (and perhaps others) claims that its FDD port will support only _one_ FDD. It is hard to understand why they would disable one of the drives. Is it common understanding that a M/B mfg would provide a FDD port but disable one drive.

First, go into Setup and see if more than one floppy drive is listed. One of my services is to install floppy drives on Dell's etc. where the floppy drive was omitted. I do not remember seeing but one floppy drive port listed. The status of the port (choice of which type of floppy drive is attached to that port or "none") does not matter as that can be set as you desire. What does matter is if you have one port to make the choice for or two ports to make the choice for. If you do not have two ports showing I see no way you will be able to run two floppy drives.
