I seem to remember the analysis of old OS to install into the new OS takes
ages
You know there were only __ applications and utilities installed, and they
were named __
The OS has to work out, on a file by file basis what was/is on your system
that needs installing into the new OS instance

Couldn't you setup a dual boot system so you can boot to either 98, or 2K
and - if the 2K can see the 98 partition then that should ease data movement
