With 3.0 Mb DSL that comes to $77. I don't have any HD yet, because
I can't justify junking a perfectly good 61" SD big screen.
Hmmm, I don't know how you lucked out as I've sent them several
emails over the past year & all I ever got was an automated message
saying that they had rec'd my message. I spoke with several supt
people, asked to speak to a supervisor & then spoke with not one but
two of them but they wouldn't budge. I bet the key was that you
mentioned Dish Network by name. I even called back after I had
disconnected & they still didn't offer me anything to stay with them
even tho we've been with them for the past 8yrs.
FWIW I called VZ & they say that 3mb service will never be available
here so I'm glad that I'm going back to cable. 1.5m DSL is probably
fine for most people. VZ said that whether you have the 3m or 1.5m
service the price is still $29.95 which makes no sense to me.
We bought our 30" HD wide screen set a couple of years ago when CC
had them on sale with zero interest for 18mo & moved the 27" to the
BR but I certainly can see your point about your 61" set & probably
would do the same. I have a computer with a MyHD capture card that
acts as a HDTV receiver, PVR & DVD player in one but it only does OTA
stuff. Like HS Internet once you go HD you'll never want to watch
anything else. I'll be keeping one DirecTv HD receiver just in case
we'll want to go back later but I doubt it even if they offer us what
you were able to snag. Oh well, I'm glad to hear that you got
somewhere with them.
