Most POP mail servers have the ability to pull POP mail from other servers and accumulate it all in one mailbox. Not exactly a perfect solution, but one which reduces complexity and you can accumulate mail in the faster-polling service.

I collect a few Hotmail accounts via OE6, and they seem to take ages to poll, while my regular pop3 accounts are fast. Before adding the new account all my pop3 accounts were first, then the hotmail ones. Now, they are muddled up all over the place!!
