Subject: Re: Not working _ Text to Speech program
Was it the warning that it was not digitally signed? That can be
ignored, it just means MS haven't "officially" tested/approved the driver
From my experience the Realtek AC '97 Software is the most commonly used
audio software. I format and do clean installs on name brand computers and
avoid the computer manufacturer's reinstallation process. I use the Asus
P4PE-X Motherboard CD to install the AC '97 software and often the chipset
software etc. I ignore the warning that the software is not approved by
Microsoft.
Since the audio works and it is so common etc. I would blame the text to
speech program software if there is a conflict or problem with it working
with AC '97 software. Who knows? The text to speech people may be bed
buddies with Creative or somebody else and dislike the competition.
