The reason the Spyware installation wanted me to insert my 
WinXP disk was becasuse one of MS's files was missing or
corrupted.  I replaced the file and the install went well.

You are correct, though, the TurboTax thing is still attached to the 
AntiSpyware icon.........still.

Now sure what shortcut you were referring to for the checking of 
properties??

I'll probably dig up my Turbo Tax and just go ahead and install 
the darned thing!
