I can think of two things:

1. There must be a forum of Ebay sellers or some such thing where software
such as this is discussed, recommended, or dissed. Ask around there if
anyone else is having a problem.

2. Install a second "test" instance of Windows on one of your machines and
see if it works there. Don't install anything other than the minimum
drivers needed to make just your basic hardware work.

If you do (2), and it fails, go back to the developer and demand a solution.
If he's still not willing to work with you, and you've been paying him for
regular program updates over the years, you can at least post your
experience in the forum of (1) so that others don't make the same mistake.

Subject: Technical Input Needed

RE: Instant Feedback from PCTechzone.
(Anyone using it???)

I have a problem that I have been unable to solve. I know you
folks probably can't solve it either, but maybe you can give me
some pointers.

I've used this software for years in conjunction with my eBay
business.

Just recently it quit connecting with eBay. I called the developer
of the software and he doesn't have any idea why it quit working.
He has made a number of suggestions, none of which has worked.
He says it works on his computer and even picked up a couple of
feedbacks of mine. He has given up.

Here are the steps I have taken:

1. Downloaded and re-installed.....a number of times
2. Booted to insure that "NO OTHER APP" was loaded
3. Booted in SAFE MODE - it worked once, but not now
4. Installed on my wife's computer and it still doesn't connect
5. Uninstalled all programs I have loaded since it last connected
6. Killed all processes that I could kill and keep my system up
7. Disabled my firewall
8. Everything else that I can think of

Should a developer have an idea of what might be preventing this
program from connecting to eBay? He says it doesn't use an API.

Any idea what I may have missed?

Thanks for your help. It bugs the heck out of me to have
something not working when it should.

Thanks a bunch.

Jim
