You're probably looking having a hard time getting by at much less than 
$1000/month (if you're lucky).

What you'll have to pay is an access cost [which is, actually, sort of 
the moral equivalent of having an ISP, only it is at a lower level [and 
they don't provide any services other than giving you a place to have the 
phone company connect your leased line to and put a router on their side 
of it]].  Then you'll have to arrange for two things in telco-land: first 
is a broadband line from your nearest central office to wherever you've 
made arrangements to have access.  And second is a "local loop" -- to 
connect where-you-are to your central office.  Altogether it ends up 
being a lot of money.  Details, of course, vary wildly with where you 
are, what service you decide to sign up with and what speed you want.
