I did not come here to argue the legalities etc. of doing clean installs on name brand computers, but to ascertain the feasibility of obtaining a Windows XP Media Center OEM CD.

I don't remember anyone mentioning legalities except you.

I also mentioned how you could get an OEM copy of XP MCE. You'll pay how much for one of those retail? You could get a 1 yr subscription to MAPS for $250. If one has a MAPS subscription & requires an OEM copy of something that MSFT sells then they can write MSFT for 1 OEM copy. I did that just last month & have already rec'd it.

Some of those who consider my clean installs as wrong have no problems slipstreaming XP with SP2 using media other than what is furnished by Microsoft.

MSFT isn't going to make it easy for you & that's what you were complaining about.

No one said that clean installs were wrong just that you charge too much.

Why do you make the client buy another copy of Windows when the one they have is not only legal but already paid for? Many people are idiots but you make the ones that are not feel like they are just because of some self imposed moral high ground.

OBTW MSFT supports slipstreaming & they've even made it easier with SP2.

I may be forced to purchase a Windows XP Media Center kit.

The only one forcing you is you.

So who is my daddy? Is his name Bill?

What's your daddy got to do with Windows?

Why do you continue to write in this forum for assistance in your way of thinking? You could've simply asked if anyone had an OEM copy of XP MCE without it's license but no you have to give us all your reasoning behind it as if to garnish support for your concerns. I don't recall in the past 10yrs you getting much of that.
