I had an old compaq that weighed in at 7 ish that had a buiilt in DVD and
floppy. It was close to 2" thick when closed and the screen was 13... so
while it is possible on a machine with a screen that small, weight is a
problem and it's going to be thick.
Honestly, i much perfer my toshiba with usb floppy and dvd/rw over the
laptops with either built in. Once you try it, it's great - the weight loss
is well worth having separate devices.
