thank you kylde, and tim. acting on kylde's xp advice, i went to win2k
and it worked there, as well. unfortunately, editing my path did not
solve my win2k startup problem. let me gather some more data, and i
shall be back with another question regarding my startup problem. and
just a bit off-topic, i hope you all got to see my home team (chicago
bears) complete the longest play in the history of the nfl, a 108 yard
field goal return for a touchdown, as they won their fifth game in a row.
