Subject: Re: DirectCD Error message
I had read MANY times on the old Roxio e-mail support list that
DirectCD can not be disabled in any way. You either need to have
and use it, or you need to un-install it and forget about it.
This is why I have always did selective installs of Roxio and many other
applications, to avoid installing the unwanted items. With EZ CD Creator I
always omit Direct CD.
I realize that for some people treating a rewritable CD blank like an
auxiliary hard drive has worked well. For most it seems they, like I do,
treat a CD/R as recordable media to be written to only once with a large
amount of data such as from 100 to 700 MB. I love the DVD-R's which let me
record up to 4500 MB of data.
