Yes - I created an iso and found that I could burn image to disk with Nero
Express 6.
Great.
4 hours later - nothing happened.
Ooops.
True - if Windows is already running, it will autorun. However, that
bypasses the point of a boot CD (that I'm trying to learn about).
Some of the apps won't run from that state.
This URL suggests CDROM -> A ->C. I had CDROM -> C ->A. It shouldn't make
any difference, but I'll try it later.
You're correct that it should NOT make any difference but I have seen
cases where it does so it's worth a shot.
Will also look at Bart's PE FAQ list, if I can find time.
I was just thinking, I copied my upgrade XP Pro SP2 CD to C drive, and
created the iso from there. My machine is still at SP1 level. Does anyone
think I should use the i386 stuff from there instead? or bite the bullet
and do the sp2 thing first?
You should upgrade your machine to Sp2 anyway but that won't make any
difference at all as far as PE Builder is concerned if you point PE
Builder to where you copied the Sp2 Upgrade on your HD. PE Builder
will look at your installed OS only if it can't find what it needs.
This makes it nice if you want to build say a Xp Pro version but
you're running Xp Home on your machine.
