Occasionally an application will not tell the OS that it has finished with a
file or directory
( Especially if the application was 'chopped')

If you still have any application associated with the file 'running'
terminate that application and try again
Also do you have another explorer window open on that, or a lower level
directory.

If not try again after a reboot

Then run chkdsk on the partition and try again

Then try Safe mode

If all fail come back to the forum for more complex techniques

Subject: Deleting a Folder

Trying to delete a folder on an external h/d and am getting error message in
a dialogue box's titled "Error Deleting a File or Folder" and in the
dialogue box it states, Can not delete Audio Books (name of folder), Make
sure that the disc is not full or write-protected and that the file is not
currently in use. The folder is empty, contains no data. Any suggestions as
to how to delete this folder?
Thanks
