When I opened the message, I found that Gaffer had written:

It isn't under warranty, so I'll pick up another drum.
When the drum went out on my previous MFC-8500, because of the
cost, I just bought another unit and sold the printer for $30.00. I see
the prices of the drums have come down, tough.
I really like the printer.
