Probably, since the voltage is up around 110/120 ! Even though the
current is only a few percent of what it would be without the
transformers !!

For the few feet that he is talking about, he would get away with cat 5
used as 100volt line.

Using so called 100 volt line is a common method of distributing power
to multiple loads. In particular audio to loudspeakers. If you think
about it...... Its how the electricity grid distributes power !!
