I realise this is a longshot, but if the PC is running on an NForce
motherboard with the Forceware drivers you can examine the IDE
controller in Device Manager and it will tell you which device is
attached to which channel along with its operating mode.
My nForce3 board tells me on the nForce IDE controller which drive is
on not only which channel but whether it's master or slave. It does
NOT however tell you if I used CS or not & since I never use CS then
that's fine with me.
